JLine Financial is an independent financial service company. This means we do not take direction from any corporate sponsor or franchise therefore we can charter our financial advice to what is best for the client. Some of our professionals are licensed in multiple states which is great for those that have interests across state lines. We use a unique holistic approach utilizing our in house team as well as our strategic partners of registered securities advisers, certified public accounts and estate attorneys all working together on most EVERY plan. This unified team approach has helped our clients from many angles whether it be increased earnings or income, taxation, legacy, and at the same time cut our client’s overall insurance and investment costs. Jerry E. Linebaugh II
Jerry is the founder of The Linebaugh Group Inc., dba JLine Financial. He is a member of several organizations including The Better Business Bureau, National Ethics Association, and The Alliance Group which is a nationwide organization of independent Insurance, Investment and Estate Planning Educators. For over 20 years, Jerry has served retirees and even younger folks looking to build a secure nontraditional retirement strategy without being 100% dependent on market securities.
Jerry says it’s OK to have market securities and through general education, teaches how to not have your assets directly correlated with the market. Also, a person planning for retirement will need growth, liquidity, and one day– income–so having too much in any asset class is an unnecessary risk. Jerry helps his clients understand where to find unbiased information especially on emerging non mainstream retirement concepts. He explains how these new concepts can work together with more traditional retirement strategies for a unique combination of decent returns, downside market protection and increasing income to combat retirement worries. JLine Financial offers information, education, advice and planning strategies to ensure his clients have the tools they need to achieve a secure and lasting retirement.
His experience in developing and protecting estates for retirees spans over two decades and reaches well into the pre-retiree market as well, advising the employed and the self-employed on how to grow money with high averages without the typical Wall Street market risk and often without the potential tax risks as well. In this way he helps people achieve retirement and stay retired often in their pre retiree working lifestyle. Jerry works closely with CPA’s and Tax and Estate Attorneys and works to help provide state required continue education credits for CPA’s in the State of Louisiana and other states.
His practice focuses on showing people how to structure estate assets to avoid the most common financial mistakes. A big part of Jerry’s practice is helping people legally and ethically avoid taxes on social security and certain other assets held by retirees who want to protect their principle and insure that their money lasts as long as they do.
Jerry is sought out for financial commentary from various trade publications and speaks regularly at public and private seminars but in his spare time, Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys ATV adventure riding, camping, gourmet cooking, as well as any kind of outdoor and indoor cooking. When he can, he combines all of these things into something he calls “Glamping”…you should ask him about that (he loves talking about it!) He also enjoys domestic and international travel with his family.

Carlos Cortez, Jr., President and Investment Advisor of Tampa based Cortez Wealth Management is a financial service firm specializing in retirement planning that fosters safe strategies to facilitate wealth preservation , insurance, income and investment planning.
Carlos Cortez, Jr. graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and currently holds a General Securities Representative (Series 7) License, Investment Advisor Representative (Series 66) License, Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63) License. In addition, Mr. Cortez holds his R.F.C. (Registered Financial Consultant) designated by the International Association of Registered Financial consultants.
He and his wife live in Oldsmar and have two children. He was a former NCAA Division II scholarship soccer athlete and played professional arena football in North Carolina. He enjoys football and traveling as well as being an active member of his church. He also travels home to North Carolina to visit his parents who currently are full time Pastors.

Bill Jones, CRSP
Bill is the owner of Creative Retirement Services. He has 28+ years experience working in the retirement plan consulting and administration field. Bill has extensive experience in plan design, administration and audits, Cash Balance plans, DB/DC Combo plans, plan operational reviews and tax issues.
As a former IRS Agent, Bill understands fiduciary exposure and audit risks and offers suggestions to clients to minimize these risks. Bill’s background with the IRS and private industry make him a very unique retirement plan consultant. Bill also believes in keeping the retirement plan process SIMPLE. His main focus is his clients and making sure they clearly understand their options in order to reach their goals.
Judy Terrell, CPA
Judy Terrell is the CEO of the J Terrell Group, Inc., a local CPA firm based out of New Orleans. Her work focuses on providing accounting, tax and business consulting services to companies in a variety of industries, including the hospitality, manufacturing, retail and service industries.
Judy has spent her 25+ year career serving individuals, partnerships, privately-held corporations, and not-for-profit organizations. She gained extensive experience through her years as an Audit Manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers . The knowledge and expertise she has gained in her 15 years in Public Accounting along with 10 years in the financial Industry makes Judy a highly valued resource to all her clientele.
In addition to accounting and tax planning services, Judy also provides business consulting, financial planning, and tax compliance consulting. She is also involved in training and helping her client’s accounting departments understand the needs of the owners and business to ensure that they are all on the same page with accounting, payroll, taxation, cash-flow and risk analysis, and management reporting.
Judy prides herself on getting to know her clients and learning how she can help meet their needs. These personal relationships often mean attending meetings at clients’ sites and interacting with them so that she can bring value to the service that she provides. Judy often calls her clients to keep them abreast with new tax and accounting regulations as well as suggests opportunities for her clients to succeed.

John D. Lizana
John Lizana was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi and attended Perkinston Jr. College and Delta State University where he obtained his BA in 1971. He married Carol Jones from Baton Rouge, Louisiana in December, 1970 and then went into the U. S. Army after he graduated, where he was a Company Clerk at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana for 3 years.
After his tour of duty in the Army, he and his wife moved to Baton Rouge, where they have lived ever since. He went into the insurance business with his father-in-law, who owned an independent insurance agency at the time. He has been in the insurance industry for the past 40 years and has enjoyed a very successful career ever since.
He joined the Baton Rouge Jaycees as a young man, where he served on several major committees, including the Baton Rouge State Fair and participated in many community service projects. His wife, Carol, served as President of the women’s auxiliary in 1980-81 and they were both very active in this civic organization.
John has served as Chairman of the Deacons at First Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, LA. And now attends Redeemer Baptist Church and serves presently as a deacon there.
He has held a Property and Casualty license, along with Life and Health since becoming an insurance agent but specializes in Life and Health. He has serviced very large groups in the past, such as the Winn Dixie and Lowes accounts in the South and continues to specialize in selling to groups, both life, health, and supplemental benefits.
John became a member of the “App-A-Day” Club with Allstate Insurance Company, which took him some 5 years to achieve, and continues to hold this prestigious membership.
He and his wife have 4 grown children and 10 grandchildren and are very involved in their lives.
